WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's volleyball team won their match over the Conestoga Condors on Sunday afternoon at the Sportsplex by a score of 3-0.
Game scores for St. Clair were 25-23, 25-21, and 25-9. The Saints had a solid team effort but were led by Helen Wiebe with 15 kills, one stuff block, and 13 digs. Shalena Horst had a solid match as well with eight kills, two service aces, one stuff block and 14 digs.
The St. Clair women improved to 9-6 on the season while Conestoga fell to 1-13. The Saints are now tied for third place in the OCAA west division and are currently ranked ninth in Ontario. With the win St. Clair is one win away from clinching a playoff spot with three matches remaining. However, things are very tight as the Saints could still finish anywhere from second to seventh. The Top 6 teams make the playoffs with the top two earning an automatic spot in the OCAA championship.
The Saints are next in action when they host the Fanshawe Falcons on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Sportsplex in their final regular season home game.
