GEORGIAN CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT HUMBER INVITATIONAL

ETOBICOKE, Ont. – The Georgian Grizzlies men's and women's cross country running teams competed at the Humber Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Toronto.

The event brought in many teams looking for a sneak peek of what the course will be like for the CCAA national championships, as Humber College will play hosts on Nov. 9.

With plenty of competition the Grizzlies men's team was able to finish in seventh place as a group.  Georgian's Ryan Fennell had another strong race finishing in 17th spot overall which was his second Top 20 finish in as many races.

On the women's side the team put together an eighth-place finish with Chelsea Cotter coming in as the top Grizzlies runner in 27th spot.  She was followed close behind by Serafima Stilman (28th), Carolyn Schaerer (29th) and Sam Lateigne (31st).

Georgian will next compete in the Seneca Invitational this Friday, Oct. 11 which will be their final event before the OCAA championships which are being hosted by Redeemer University College on Saturday, Oct. 19.
