TORONTO - The Seneca Sting and head coach Anthony
Biggar are proud to announce the recent signing of
Jameson Tige to the cross country running
team.
A resident of Toronto, Tige comes to Seneca College from Nairobi,
Kenya where he was a standout, running for the club Athletics Kenya
Nyandarua SubBrand.
When speaking about the signing of Tige, Biggar spoke very highly
about his potential. "Jameson has run in several marathons, half
marathons, and shorter races that have us extremely excited at the
potential he brings to the team and the College. We have been
fortunate the past few seasons having the Braithwaite sisters
leading the women's program and we look to Jameson to have that
same kind of success and leadership on the men's side."
A graduate of Kaharo High School, Tige will be studying at the
Seneca @ York Campus this fall in the Social Service Worker
program.
Tige will join a men's cross country running team who qualified
for the CCAA championship last year following a ninth place finish
at the OCAA championship. This year's OCAA championship will be
hosted by Redeemer University College on October 26. The CCAA
championship will be hosted by Humber College on November 9.
Biggar concluded, "We welcome Jameson to the Seneca family and
look forward to seeing him running in our Sting uniform in the
fall."
