OCAA TEAMS PERFOM WELL AT CCAA CROSS COUNTRY RUNNING CHAMPIONSHIP

The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) was well represented at the 2006 Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) Cross Country Running Open Championship hosted by the Institute of Agricultural Technology at the Saint-Hyacinthe Campus in Quebec on November 11, 2006.

Thomas McQuade of Georgian College finished the men’s 8KM race in a time of 28:31 to claim the silver medal and finish as the top OCAA male runner. In total three OCAA men’s runners finished in the top ten as OCAA Champion Martin Labute of St. Clair College was fourth with a time of 28:58 and John Mason of Fanshawe was sixth at 29:13.

In the women’s 5KM race the top OCAA female was Hollie Gordon of Fleming Peterborough with a time of 21:12.

In the team competition the Fanshawe Falcons men’s team were the lone OCAA team to medal. The team consisted of John Mason, Sean Cunningham, Ben Ntambara, Ben Dobie, Chris Navakowski and Isak Wall.
