HAMILTON, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins came to Mohawk's David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre on Saturday and downed Mountaineers 25-20, 25-20, 25-18 in OCAA women's volleyball.
Dimitra Stathakos and Manuela Alvarez led the Bruins with eight kills apiece. Joelle Parnham collected 25 assists. Stathakos and Stacey Gregorini each had 11 digs.
Brittany Gingrich was tops for the Mountaineers with nine kills. Kirsten Bialachowski had seven and Kinsley Child provided six. Yvonne Mann had 25 assists and Jessna Marmo came up with 11 digs.
It was a big win for Sheridan, trying to go to the post-season and a costly one for Mohawk. The Bruins moved to 8-8 while the Mountaineers slipped to 6-10.
