To kick off the 2016 OCAA Women's Volleyball Championship on Thursday, the Cambrian Golden Shield faced the Durham Lords in an exciting match.
Cambrian gave Durham a run for their money in the first two sets putting up a tough fight. The crowd went wild as Durham swept Cambrian in three sets (27-25, 25-21, 25-16) advancing the east division first place finishers to the semi-finals on Friday night.
The player of the game for Durham and top point scorer was Allison Marshall with 28 attacks, 10 kills, two stuff blocks and eight digs. The player of the game and top point scorer for Cambrian was Amanda Kring with 24 attacks, eight kills and eight digs.
Cambrian will be playing in the consolation semi-finals on Friday at 1 p.m. Durham will be playing in the semi-finals on Friday at 6 p.m.
