CANADORE 3, FLEMING 0
NORTH BAY, Ont. - The Canadore Panthers varsity women's volleyball team dominated the Fleming College Knights, winning three straight sets, in home game action at the Education Centre Gymnasium today.
Liza Grenon was the top scorer with 17 points, including 16 kills.
Player of the game Katie Maeck plays by her favourite motto, "To always leave your heart on the court," and when asked about how she thought the game went, she replied, "We played well and persevered through the entire game and when we do that, we succeed."
The Panthers record now stands at 3-1, which keeps them in the top teams of the East Division in OCAA.
Head coach Sefanie Hancock, explains the important role that Maeck played over the past two games at home. "Katie has a lively and energetic personality, which was exactly what our team needed today. She genuinely has fun on the court. She was one of the players we put in today that capitalized on her opportunity to be on the court, and managed to help out the other players' morales."
Assistant coach Hilary Baxter, who played as a Panther herself for a few seasons, added, "She has a bubbly and loud personality and having that on the court, really helps our whole team stay positive."
