TORONTO - It started with a high kick off the foot of Anastasia Grekos (Toronto), from about 15 metres just off the front of the net, that took a big bounce, surprised the opposing keeper and gave George Brown College the goal it needed to squeeze out a very important point.
The Huskies, with the goal at the 89th minute mark of the game, tied Loyalist College of Belleville, Ont., 3-3 in their Ontario Colleges Athletic Association women's soccer game at Esther Shiner Stadium. Just minutes earlier, Amy Lovsin (Brampton, Ont.) hit the cross bar on a breakaway.
Midfielder Kayla Crnic (Mississauga, Ont.) opened the scoring at the 18th minute, off a free kick, picking the inside post. Loyalist tied the game. Rookie forward Julia Tinto (Toronto) put George Brown up for the second time, but a minute later it was tied. Loyalist took the lead until Grekos capped the scoring.
George Brown is now 2-1-1 and tied with Cambrian for third place in the OCAA's East Division.
