OSHAWA, Ont. - The Algonquin Thunder didn't allow for too much celebration during the final home game for Durham College's women's basketball team.
Algonquin dominated the game, defeating the Lords 106-44 to improve to 13-1 and make the Lords game against Loyalist next week in Belleville, Ont., that much more interesting.
The leading scorer in the CCAA and for Durham College, Lindsay Panchan (Ajax, Ont.) led her team with 18 points in the loss. Kayla Marshall (Ottawa, Ont.) added 13 for the Lords.
Felicia Mazerolle led Algonquin with 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Lindsay Whittaker also had a strong night for the Thunder with 18 points.
After the game Durham recognized Kaitlyn Cruickshank (Oshawa, Ont.), Kali Darling (Pickering, Ont.) and Brittany Walters (Oshawa, Ont.) as they all graduate from their respective programs this year.
The three seniors and the Lords women's basketball team wrap up their season next Friday on the road at Loyalist.
