TORONTO – The Durham College women's basketball team dropped their fifth straight decision as they fell 65-48 to the George Brown Huskies in Toronto.
The Lords have lost 10 of their last 11 games all are 3-14 in OCAA conference action this season. Durham will look to end their season on a positive note on Tuesday night as they host the St. Lawrence Vikings in their regular season finale.
One of the bright spots in the Lords season has been the play of freshman Kayla Marshall (Ottawa), who finished the night with 13 points shooting 6-for-12 from the field. She also had five rebounds in the loss. Marshall has had six games where she has finished in double digits in scoring.
George Brown led from start to finish as they jumped out to a 20-9 lead after 10 minutes. The Huskies would cruise to their ninth win of the season as 11 players saw at least 10 minutes of court time.
Aria Charles was on fire for George Brown shooting 7-for-10 for a game-high 17 points. She managed to record a double-double as she also hauled in 10 rebounds.
Tuesday's game against St. Lawrence is graduating senior's night at the CRWC. Game time is at 6 p.m. with a ceremony scheduled to take place after the game.
