GEORGE BROWN 64, GEORGIAN 48
Nearing the end of their season the Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball team looked to pull off an upset against the George Brown Huskies Wednesday night in Barrie.
Both teams took some time to get their shooting accuracy out of the gate but it was the Huskies who found their touch first. The visitors from George Brown College were able to get up early on the Grizzlies and carry a 29-16 into halftime.
In the second half, Georgian was able to go toe-to-toe with George Brown but that wasn't enough to overcome the first half deficit, falling 64-48.
The Grizzlies had a strong performance from Agnes Bartosik yet again. The Barrie native led all scorers in the game with 14 points while also posting five rebounds.
Lauren LaSalle of Minesing, Ont., had a career-high 10 points in the contest for Georgian.
George Brown had a solid team effort which saw double-digit point efforts from Quichell Barriffe (11 points), Shan Wilson (10), and Aria Charles (10).
The Grizzlies will wrap up their 2012-2013 season this Saturday at 1 p.m. when they host the Fleming Knights at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
