FLEMING 67, DURHAM 62
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College women's basketball team surrendered a 21-point third quarter lead on Tuesday night as the Fleming Knights stole a 67-62 win at the CRWC.
Trailing 47-26 midway through the third quarter, Fleming closed the gap to 11 points heading into the final 10 minutes of the game. In the fourth quarter, the Knights would outscore Durham 67-62 to earn the comeback victory.
Fleming's turnaround from beyond the arc was the difference in the final quarter as they nailed down five attempts for 15 points. The Knights had 13 three pointers on 47 attempts in the game, adding to their OCAA single season record breaking total.
Kate Langer of Fleming led all scorers in the game with 31 points, 20 of which were in the second half. Langer was 10-for-32 from the floor and 7-of-27 from three-point distance.
Alicia Del Fuoco (Whitby, Ont.) had a double-double for Durham with 16 points and 10 rebounds while Kelsey Hare (Whitby, Ont.) had 16 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Down the stretch, the leading duo could not find their earlier success as they combined for only five points.
Durham is 3-13 on the year while the Knights improve to 6-10.
The Lords will look to snap their four game losing streak on Friday night when they travel to Toronto for a game against the George Brown Huskies. Senior's night is next week when the Lords host the St. Lawrence Vikings on Tuesday, February 19.
