CENTENNIAL 46, DURHAM 33
OSHAWA, Ont. - Durham College got off to a slow start on Tuesday night as they fell 46-33 at the hands of the Centennial Colts in OCAA women's basketball.
The Lords came out of the gate sluggish and fell behind early to the Colts. In the first half, Durham was out-rebounded which resulted in some key second chance baskets for the Colts. As a result, the Colts held a comfortable 27-12 halftime lead.
Despite out scoring Centennial in the second half, the Lords were unable to make the large first half deficit as they dropped their fourth straight conference game.
Notable highlights for Durham included Kayla Marshall of Ottawa who finished the game with a team high 10 points. Kadeja Hughes of Pickering led the way for the Colts finishing with a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Kelsey Hare became the fourth Durham College student-athlete to reach 800 points as she scored seven in the loss, bringing her career total to 805.
The Lords are 2-8 on the year, having dropped four straight conference games. Centennial is 6-5 and have won three straight games.
Durham's next home game is Saturday, January 19 against the Algonquin Thunder at 1 p.m.
