ST. LAWRENCE (K) 64, GEORGIAN 33
Looking to stretch the team's home-unbeaten streak and current seven game winning streak, the Vikings women's team hosted the winless Georgian College Grizzlies on Sunday. The Vikings won the two previous games against the Grizzlies 65-29 and 91-36.
St. Lawrence would get off to a very quick start right from the opening buzzer and would finish the quarter with 20-8 lead. The Vikings would not look back and dominated the game from start to finish, recording 51 rebounds, 10 steals, and forced 24 turnovers eventually leading to the 64-33 win.
Jessica Cetoute led the team in points and recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Lacey Knox continues to show why she is ranked in the Top 5 female college basketball players in the country with 17 points. Katie Chapman finished with 14 points, and Keisha Conway played a great game down low with nine rebounds.
The victory keeps the Vikings in the hunt for first place in the province, currently being held by the Algonquin College Thunder who are undefeated with a perfect 10-0 record. St. Lawrence lost to Algonquin in November by a score of 59-64. You can catch the rematch on Saturday, February 9 at home; game time is 1 p.m.
