St. Clair (6-5) defeated Niagara (4-7) by a score of 57-47.
A very poor shooting day at St. Clair's Thames Campus Healthplex in Chatham saw both teams making good on less than 30 percent from the field. The teams were tied 24-24 at halftime and neither side had anyone in double figures at the break.
St. Clair used a decided 56-35 advantage on the boards along with 14 second chance points to create the difference in the game. However, the game was very tight until the final moments of the fourth quarter where St. Clair used a 7-0 to end the game.
Kendyl Rizea (Windsor) once again led the Saints with 21 points adding 11 rebounds, six assists and four steals while playing every second of the contest. Younger sister Kelly Rizea (Windsor) reached double figures with 13 points to go with nine rebounds but added significant defensive pressure to the Niagara backcourt.
Niagara's Kate Montgomery and Allana Arundell each had 11 points in the loss.
The Saints basketball teams go on the road for the next few weeks in OCAA action.
