CENTENNIAL 74, DURHAM 49
SCARBOROUGH, Ont. – The Durham College women's basketball team will head into the 2013 portion of their schedule looking to make a run at the playoffs after falling 74-49 to Centennial on Wednesday night, dropping them to 2-7 on the year.
The Lords defence failed to stop the Colts attack, as they had their highest offensive output of the season. Durham has allowed an average of 68 points per game for a total of 612 points, second worst in the conference.
On offence, Kelsey Hare led Durham in scoring with 22 points and nine rebounds. Hare is averaging 15.8 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Stephanie Legebokoff had seven points while MacKenzie McFarlane had six points and three rebounds.
Despite being 2-7, the playoffs are still within reach for the Lords with four teams six or less points ahead of them. Centennial is one of those teams as they sit in seventh place with a 4-5 record.
The Lords first action in 2013 will be at the St. Lawrence Vikings tournament from January 4-5 in Kingston.
Durham will resume conference action on January 15 in a rematch against the Colts on January 15. Game time at the CRWC is at 6 p.m.
