Katelyn Arbour
Position: Forward

- Member of the Blessed Sacrament Basketball Association Rep (or OBA) for 8 years
- Member of the Mount Hamilton Soccer Association and Gilkson Soccer Club for 4 years and 2 years, respectively
- Grade 9 Female Athlete of the year and Grade 9, 10, 11 MVP in Girl's Basketball
- Participated in the HWDSB Public School All-Star Basketball game and received MVP for the West Team
- Played for Canusa in 2009 and 2011
Player Comment: "I started playing house league basketball when I was five years old and went on to play rep when I was nine. I played for the senior girl's basketball team while attending G.L. Armstrong Elementary School in grades six, seven and eight and then played for Hill Park Secondary School where I am currently finishing my Grade 12 year."
"I will be attending Mohawk College in September, 2012, enrolled in the Early Childhood Education Program with plans to attend Brock University in the Concurrent Teaching Program. I chose Mohawk College because it is close to home and my family. It also gives me the opportunity to play basketball at a higher level and be coached by, and play with, exceptional people.
"I had the pleasure of meeting Coach Kevin while participating in Canusa and realized that he was the coach I wanted to play for. I am excited to start college in the fall and show everyone my potential."
Coaches Comment: "Katelyn is a very athletic guard who can hit open shots and go to the hoop when need be. Her height and speed on the perimeter will not only cause match up problems, but will give us a lot of options defensively as she will be able to get out into passing lanes and close out quickly against some of the better shooting guards that we face in our league."

Player Comment: "The reason I have chosen Mohawk so I can take my athletics and academics to the next level. I feel that I will have great success with going to Mohawk. Also staying home so I have the support of my family and friends for the next levels I will be accomplishing in life. I feel with the coaching at this level it will bring me to push out all the potential I have and have a great successful basketball season."
Coaches Comment: "Cassie is an experienced player having played with successful teams at the club level with Hamilton Transway. Cassie can play both the 3 and 4 positions on the court, she plays with a fierce intensity and has a real desire to learn and get better. I am looking forward to Cassie adding a bit of an edge to our team and leading by example with her desire and determination."

Coaches Comment: "We are very excited to have the twins come and join us at Mohawk. Having played at an outstanding programe at Westdale H.S., the girls are used to competing against high calibre opponents on a regular basis. We look for both Careena and Carissa to add scoring to our lineup, but mostly gives us the ability to play a full-court pressure defensive system with quick transition. In a word, they are both winners, who play with aggression and tenacity, we look forward to seeing them in a Mohawk uniform this fall."

"Why Mohawk? I chose Mohawk because I wanted to pursue the Mo-Mac Nursing Degree. I also love the game of basketball. I want to better myself with better caliber coaching. I wanted to play with better players. The coaching staff has been very supportive throughout the last year. Mohawk is close to my home, therefore my family can support me at games. Mohawk is the perfect fit for me!"

We really like Natalie's compete level, she plays with great determination and is not afraid to go to the tougher areas on the court to rebound or get after a loose ball. Coaches Comment: "Porscha is another versatile athlete who could play both the 3 and 4 positions for us. I have seen Porscha play both on her club team and with the CANUSA Games and she just never quits. Porscha loves to compete, she is unselfish and will do what it takes for her team to win. As with our other recruits, Porscha's athleticism will add a alot to our team both offensively and defensively."

Player Comment: "I will be attending Mohawk in September and taking the Recreation Therapy course. I enjoyed the atmosphere of Mohawk and was thoroughly intrigued when talking with everyone involved with the college. I am excited to continue my basketball career and get started with the coaches and teammates of the 2012-2013 varsity basketball team!"
Coaches Comment: "We are looking forward to Lacey coming in and being a physical presence to our interior defence. Lacey will bring rebounding as well as an ability to alter shots with her height. Lacey will be a great complement to our returning post players, she plays hard on the court and brings a commitment to winning with her focus and positive attitude."
