What are your first impressions of the facilities at Durham College?
The facilities at Durham College are excellent. Ken Babcock and staff have obviously put a great deal of time and effort into the new facilities that Durham College and UOIT have to use. The students and student-athletes have a gymnasium and fitness facilities that are second to none.
What has been the key to your success at the high school/club level?
I have been very fortunate in my coaching career to have athletes who have been committed to the teams they have played with. I feel very strongly that hard work and time together will pay off. A great work ethic will always prevail. It is also important thatplaying and practicing must have a degree of fun included. Everyone must want to be there.
What are you looking forward to most regarding coaching at the collegiate level?
I am excited and nervous to take on the reins of a different level of competition and play at the collegiate division. I hope to build a successful tradition once again at Durham College.
Who has been your biggest influence in your coaching career?
They say that a good coach is a good thief. I have incorporated drills and ideas from so many coaches - high school, club, some university/pro, from clinics, camps, people I have coached with and against. My husband Paul is good analyst and has been a great help to me.
