HAMILTON, Ont. - The Mohawk men's volleyball team, ranked No. 1 in the OCAA, suffered their first loss of the season Friday, as their Mountain rivals, the Redeemer Royals scored a 25-22, 25-16, 25-23 sweep on the Mountaineers home court at the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre.
Nathan Delguidice led Mohawk with 10 kills and two service aces. Eric Girard recorded seven kills, one ace and two blocks. Paul Wagner collected six kills, two aces and one block and Trevor McLaughlin had six kills. Chris Spack had 29 assists.
For the Royals, Mitchell Harris had a match-high 11 kills, one ace and four blocks. Morgan Rutledge had nine kills and Linden Bontkes added six kills.
With the result, Mohawk fell to 6-1, while Redeemer moved to 5-2.
