DURHAM 3, CANADORE 0
OSHAWA, Ont. - The Canadore Panthers men's varsity volleyball team took a tough loss in three straight sets to the Durham Lords at the Oshawa campus today.
Set scores were 25-21, 25-20, 25-23.
Coming off two straight wins at home, the Canadore men were unable to capture a third win, as the Lords came out strong, sweeping the Panthers. Their record now sits at 5-8, tied in the OCAA East Division with Fleming College. Canadore will look to redeem themselves tomorrow as they travel to Belleville, Ont., to take on the Loyalist Lancers in their second game of the weekend.
Panthers player, Novindera Budhram, commented on the game, "Our team played against a top-ranked team in the East and we worked hard and stuck with them. Due to some injuries, we made some changes but overall I'm happy with the game play. Looking forward to a great game tomorrow against Loyalist."
Panthers captain, Shawn Hoffman, also added, "The team did very well today. It was tough going up against the top-ranked team but all players contributed well and we were able to work hard and pull off some very close sets."
