CANADORE 3, LA CITE 0
NORTH BAY, Ont. - The Canadore Panthers men's varsity volleyball team defeated a very enthusiastic La Cite Coyotes team in three straight sets in home game action today at the Education Centre gymnasium.
Scores were 25-22, 25-17, 25-22 in favour of Canadore.
Canadore's top scorer was Charlie Hancock with 19 points, including two service aces and two blocks.
The Panthers came out strong, winning the first two sets with confidence. After struggling towards the beginning of the third set, the Canadore men were down by four points before they rallied together to push for a win in three.
Canadore head coach Tim Ryan says, when talking about his player of the game, Kyle Mywaart, "He played an excellent game in all aspects, played well in the middle when we ran balls there, and he was key down the stretch with serving, plus his passing was stellar."
Mywaart is focused as ever. "We did a really good job spreading the ball around today, and by running more of our options, it made it tougher for them to block us and that ultimately helped us be successful. Now we need to regroup and focus on next weekend when we have a big home game against Seneca. We're still shooting for playoffs and games like this are critical, as they're must win situations."
