WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's soccer team stretched their winning streak to four games by defeating the Conestoga Condors 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Main Campus Field.
Jordan Lidia got things started early scoring in the second minute on a great cross from Yale Chadsey. Conestoga responded shortly after in the ninth minute after a mad scramble in the goal area.
The Saints went up 2-1 in the 26th minute on a nice strike by Chadsey. St. Clair put the game away when Lidia scored a penalty kick in the 61st minute after being taken down in the box. With the two goals Lidia now has a total of 10 goals in six matches to lead the OCAA. Justin Danelon was solid in net making a few key saves to earn the win. St. Clair had 23 shots on target compared to eight for the Condors.
The Saints are now 4-1-1 on the season and in second place in the OCAA West Division. St. Clair is currently ranked fifth in Ontario.
St. Clair is next in action on Wednesday when they travel to London, Ont., to take on the first place Fanshawe Falcons for the first time this season. The Falcons are 5-0-1 on the season and ranked third in Ontario and 10th in Canada.
