CONESTOGA 27, MOHAWK 25
HAMILTON, Ont. - Colton Bates' second try of the game and his conversion, gave the Conestoga a 27-25 win over Mohawk in OCAA men's rugby at Mohawk Sports Park on Thursday.
The Mountaineers looked like they would win, as moments earlier Jacob Kit scored an unconverted try to put his team up 25-20. However, there was just enough time for the Condors to come back down the field and get the winning points just before the final whistle.
Michael Roth, Rudy Sharma and Brennan Walker got the other Conestoga tries.
Along with Kit, Jaiden Peters had two tries and Ryan Santi got one for the Mountaineers.
Stephen Lewis had a convert and penalty goal.
Mohawk is now 2-2, while Conestoga is 1-3.
