HUMBER 53, GEORGIAN 3
MIDHURST, Ont. - In a battle between the only two remaining undefeated teams in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) men's rugby West Division standings, it was the Humber Hawks who were left standing on Wednesday.
Last year's defending OCAA champions from Humber were able to use their speed and athleticism to get up on the Grizzlies early. Georgian put up a strong effort but trailing by just seven points nearing the half, Humber broke out for two quick scores to hold a 22-3 lead at half time and the Hawks never looked back.
In the second half, Humber was able to control the play pulling away to a 53-3 victory.
Humber now sits at a perfect 4-0 and sit in first place in the West Division standings while the Grizzlies slip to second spot with a 3-1 record. Both teams will face each other in the final regular season game on Oct. 23 at Humber in a match that could determine the winner of the division.
The Grizzlies will play their final home game of the regular season next Tuesday, Oct. 15 against the Mohawk Mountaineers at 4 p.m. at the Barrie Community Sports Complex in Midhurst, Ont.
