TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges
Athletic Association (OCAA) rugby student-athletes of the week for
the period ending Sunday, Oct. 30.
MALE: Graham McKelvey, Mohawk
Second-year centre Graham McKelvey (Brantford,
Ont.) scored a pair of tries in Mohawk's 35-33 win over
Fleming-Peterborough on Oct. 29 in an OCAA men's rugby qualifier.
McKelvey doubled his 2011 offensive production in one match, having
scored two tries in five matches during the regular season. With
the win, Mohawk advances to the OCAA semi-final at Seneca on Nov.
5.
FEMALE: Caitlin Martin, Conestoga
Caitlin Martin (Waterloo, Ont.) scored four tries
to lift Conestoga past Mohawk 70-12 on Oct. 29, and into the OCAA
semi-finals. Her four tries gives Martin six total for the regular
season. Conestoga finished in second place in the OCAA West region
with a record of 3-3-0. Conestoga visits St. Lawrence-Kingston on
Nov. 6 with a berth to the OCAA gold medal match on the line.
