HAMILTON, Ont. - Mohawk's basketball teams kept visiting Sault College winless, with a pair of comfortable OCAA wins Friday.
The Mountaineer women got 16 points from Sam Pocrnic and 15 from Shanien O'Neil, in an 82-40 win over the Cougars, who got 14 points from Brianna Arichara.
Mohawk improved to 3-0, while Sault College dropped to 0-5.
Meanwhile, the Mountaineer men picked up their first win of the season, 97-66 over the Sault.
Mat Elcock continued his hot hand with 23 points. Kareem Collins had 17; Ty Uhrig scored 14 and Lamar Barr added 12.
Michael Heptbourne had 18 points for the Sault.
The Mountaineers upped their record to 1-2, while the Cougars fell to 0-5.
The same teams meet again Saturday at the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre. The women play at 1 p.m., followed by the men at 3 p.m.
