MOHAWK 120, ST. CLAIR 111
HAMILTON, Ont. - The Mohawk men's basketball team squared its OCAA regular season record at 1-1 with a 120-111 home opening victory over the St. Clair Saints on Saturday.
Twice the Saints came back from large deficits, including a 22-point difference in the fourth quarter, as they got to within five points. but Mohawk survived.
Matt Fennell scored 45 points and had nine rebounds for the Mountaineers. Matt Savel scored 23 points and had six assists, while Andrew Cicuttini notched 22 points and 10 boards.
For St. Clair, now 1-1, Jemol Edwards scored 25 points. Stephan Gray had 19 and Alex Temesy added 18 points and six rebounds.

HAMILTON, Ont. - The St. Clair men's basketball team used a furious comeback overcoming a 22-point deficit in the fourth quarter but fell 120-111 to Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ont., on Saturday night in their first road game of the OCAA west region schedule.
The Saints were down 51-42 at halftime in this high scoring affair and Mohawk extended their lead in the third and fourth quarters and opened their bench thinking the game was in hand. However, St. Clair was not finished and used the long ball to cut the lead to just five points (116-111) with under two minutes to play. Saints reserve guard Jemol Edwards (Brampton, Ont.) led the charge making five triples en route to 20 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter comeback. Mohawk outrebounded St. Clair 50-29.
Stephan Gray (Milton, Ont.) was also among the five Saints in double figures scoring 19 points with four 3-point makes. Alex Temesy (Amherstburg, Ont.) also had four 3-point makes scoring 18 points. Nick Campbell (Brampton, Ont.) scored 16 points with Adam Bering (Windsor, Ont./St. Anne) chipping in with 14 points for St. Clair who head to Welland, Ont., to face Niagara College Sunday.
Mohawk's Matt Fennel (London, Ont.) scored an impressive 45 points adding nine rebounds to lead his team to victory.
