ST. CLAIR 64, SAULT 52
WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair men's basketball team suffered through a poor shooting night to outlast a short benched Sault roster by a score of 64-52 at the campus gym Saturday night.
The teams combined for a paltry 46 points by halftime with St. Clair leading only 24-22. Sault was able to take a 42-37 lead heading into the fourth quarter but the Saints responded outscoring the visitors 27-10 in the deciding frame.
St. Clair held only one major advantage statistically getting 24 points from the free-throw line to Sault's 10 points. The game saw only four makes from the beyond three-point arc with each team only hitting a pair.
Only two Saints were able to reach double figures in the low scoring affair with Demetrias Kah (Windsor, Ont./WF Herman) scoring 14 points and Matt Nuna (Windsor, Ont./Catholic Central) chipping in with 13 points.
Sault's Mark Lue-Hue led his with a game-high 18 points in the loss.
The St. Clair men's basketball team will again host Sault College (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) in their final regular season game Sunday, Feb. 16 at the campus gym with tip time at 3 p.m. which will be aired lived on TV Cogeco.
