NORTH BAY, Ont. - The Canadore Panthers men's varsity basketball team broke the 100-point barrier for the second time this season to take the win after a very tight game against the Seneca Sting today in the Education Centre Gymnasium.
Canadore's top scorer was Jevon Marshall with 28 points.
Today's game was very neck-in-neck as these two team were merely a couple points apart at the end of each quarter. The fourth and final quarter saw the Panthers display a very sturdy defensive front paired with some strong offensive plays to pull away from their competitors and gain a 105-95 win, despite a buzzer beater basket by the Sting athlete.
Canadore assistant coach Richard Cowden commented, "We stepped up when it was most needed. Our veterans Joey Puddister, Mike Costello, Jevon Marshall, Christian Casimier and Santos Dak showed true leadership in securing the win today, and that's what we really like to see as the coaching staff."
Player of the game Marshall also added, "We're finally coming into our comfortable place as a team and we're playing some really good basketball."
