BELLEVILLE, Ont. – Despite trailing Loyalist by 21 points at halftime, the Durham College men's basketball team made a game of it on Tuesday night but ultimately lost by a final score of 75-66.
Durham outscored Loyalist 42-30 in the second half and cut the lead to just six, but they could not overcome the large first half deficit as they dropped their fifth game of 2013.
Ali Saddat was Durham's leading scorer with 16 points and 13 rebounds in 27 minutes of play. Christoff Pierre also had a big game with 14 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists while Leke Bankole had 14 points.
Leading the way for Loyalist was Matthew Miller who recorded a game high 17 points and eight boards while teammate Brayden Gohn had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Durham is 4-12 on the year and Loyalist improves to 11-6. The Lords next action will be against La Cite on Friday, February 8 at the CRWC. Tip-off for the single game will be 8 p.m.
