GEORGE BROWN 73, DURHAM 68

OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College men's basketball team let a fourth quarter lead slip away as the George Brown Huskies escaped the CRWC with a 73-68 victory on Wednesday night.

Durham led by one point heading into the final quarter, but the Huskies outscored the Lords 21-15 in the fourth to pick up the five point victory. Trailing 63-62, George Brown went on seven point run to seal the victory.

Anthony Ottley finished the game with 22 points and eight rebounds in the losing effort. Ottley is averaging 26 points per game in his freshman season to lead the OCAA in scoring. Christoff Pierre also had a standout night draining 18 points and five assists.

Leading George Brown was Evan Gilmore who finished the night with 23 points, going 7-for-10 from beyond the arc. George Brown hit a total of 11 three pointers for 33 points in the win. The Huskies also took advantage of their deep bench with 50 points coming from non-starters.

After shooting 61.9 percent in the first half, Durham shooters cooled off dropping down below 40 in the second.

The Lords fall to 1-5 on the year while the Huskies improve to 5-1.

Durham's next home game is on Friday, November 23 against the Georgian Grizzlies (1-4). Game time is at 8 p.m.

Prior to Friday's game, Durham will be honouring Anthony Batchelor, the OCAA's all-time leading scorer who finished his five year collegiate career with 1,833 points.
