OTTAWA – The Durham College men's basketball team extended their winning streak to four games with a 68-63 victory over the Algonquin Thunder in Ottawa. This was Durham's first win in Ottawa in over years.
Team defence earned Durham their eighth win of the season, as they held the Thunder to their lowest point total of the season.
Durham improves to 8-5 on the year while Algonquin drops to 10-3.
On the offensive side, the Lords had plenty of scoring from their entire line-up. Rob Gagliardi led the way with 25 points, eight rebounds and seven steals while Tyler McGarrity had 14 points and seven rebounds.
Three Lords were also just shy of recording double-doubles. Byron Wabano finished the night with nine points and eight rebounds while Kevin Honig recorded 10 points and six rebounds. Christoff Pierre had a team high six assists.
Durham will look to pick up the weekend sweep on Saturday as they play the La Cite Coyotes at 1 p.m.
