OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College men's basketball team could not hold on to a 69-53 lead heading into the fourth quarter as the George Brown Huskies escaped with a 91-83 victory on Friday night.
Holding a 69-50 lead nearing the end of the third quarter, George Brown went on to outscore Durham 41-14 the rest of the game to win their seventh game of the season.
Salissou Abdoulkader led the way for George Brown scoring 26 points and adding 13 rebounds in over 37 minutes of play.
Durham's Tyler McGarrity was shooting the lights out scoring 23 points and going 5-for-6 from beyond the arc. The senior also added eight rebounds while playing in all 40 minutes.
Kevin Honig had a good game for Durham shooting 7-for-11 from the floor for 15 points while Rob Gagliardi posted 25 points including going 8-for-8 from the free throw line.
Durham (4-5) has dropped two straight games and will look to bounce back on Tuesday night with a home game against the Loyalist Lancers (3-4). Game time is 8 p.m. at the CRWC.
