TORONTO - The following student-athletes have been recognized by the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) for their accomplishments during the seven-day period ending Sunday, Feb. 15.

Student-athletes are nominated by their respective athletic departments.
Jamila Beckford
School: Conestoga
Program: Business - Marketing
Year of Eligibility: 5
Sport: Basketball
Hometown: Waterloo, Ont.
Jamila Beckford scored 31 points while grabbing 14 rebounds to lead the Conestoga Condors to a big 75-61 win over the St. Clair Saints on Feb. 13 in the final home game of her collegiate career. Jamila also moved into third all-time in OCAA scoring with 1,220 career points and ends her Condors career as the program's all-time leader in rebounds with 956. Jamila averaged 15.9 points in 15 games this season to lead the Condors in scoring, while her team-high 12.9 rebounds per game average gives her a regular season double-double.
Simon Bourne
School: Redeemer
Program: Business
Year of Eligibility: 3
Sport: Volleyball
Hometown: Ottawa, Ont.
Simon Bourne was everything the Redeemer Royals needed on Feb. 14. The star outside hitter stepped up and delivered a 24-point performance in a reverse sweep crossover playoff victory over the Algonquin Wolves. Simon rattled off seven service aces, 16 kills and a block. Simon was efficient all night hitting .375. Simon delivered several key service runs late in the fourth and fifth sets which help complete the comeback. Redeemer advances to the quarter-finals later this week when the Royals visit the Seneca Sting.
Elise Churman
School: Canadore
Program: Environmental Biology Technology
Year of Eligibility: 3
Sport: Volleyball
Hometown: New Liskeard, Ont.
Elise Churman delivered a dominant performance in a pressure-packed home playoff match on Feb. 14 as Canadore swept Fanshawe in straight sets. Elise was the offensive engine for the Panthers, leading all players with 14 kills while hitting an outstanding .522 (with only two errors on 23 attempts). Elise's efficiency and consistency were key factors in Canadore's ability to control momentum throughout the match, especially in the tight opening set that the Panthers edged 29-27. Elise finished with a team-high 16 points.
Romain McCalla
School: Loyalist
Program: General Arts & Science
Year of Eligibility: 5
Sport: Basketball
Hometown: Durham, Ont.
Romain McCalla had an incredible weekend for the Loyalist Lancers to finish up regular season play. The fifth-year guard put up 18 points against Algonquin in a 93-80 victory on Feb. 13, then an absolutely unreal 53 points in a 111-82 win over La Cité. The performances set a new Loyalist record for most single-season points with 461 and gave Romain the OCAA scoring title averaging 25.6 points per game. The Lancers finished the regular season on a seven-game winning streak, and will visit Lambton in a sudden-death playoff this Sunday.
