CONFEDERATION COLLEGE 2012-13 ATHLETIC AWARDS
Megan St. Amand (Women's Curling) and Phil Tribe (Men's Curling) are Confederation College's Athletes of the Year in 2012-13.
SUCCI (Student Union of Confederation College Inc.) wrapped up
it's campus recreation and varsity athletics programs with a
celebration of its athletes and recreation participants victories
and accomplishments at their annual Awards Banquet on Wednesday,
April 10 in Confederation's Ryan Hall.
As a wrap up for this year, SUCCI took one final opportunity to
acknowledge outstanding performances this past year.
Thunderhawks curling team Skip, Megan St. Amand,
was crowned this year's Female Athlete of the Year. Megan, a
Thunder Bay native, is graduating from the Pre-Health Sciences
– University program. St. Amand is also the Women's Curling
Team MVP. Her commitment to the team and sport is a testament of
her true athletic spirit and dedication.
Veteran Thunderhawks curler, Phil Tribe was
presented this year's Male Athlete of the Year award. Tribe, a
Thunder Bay native is graduating from the Foresty Ecosystem
Management Technology program. Phil is the Men's Curling Team MVP,
chosen as an OCAA Men's Curling Championship Second-Team All-Star,
a CCAA Men's Curling Championship All-Star and is a recipient of
the OCAA All-Academic Award. Tribe demonstrated athletic prowess
and commitment to college athletics makes him the natural choice
for recipient of this award.

The Thunderhawks Women's Hockey Team MVP award went to assistant
captain, Crystal Duhaime.
Ontario Colleges Athletic Association's All-Academic Awards were
given out to:

Thunder Bay's Anthony Lombardo, graduating from
Concurrent Disorders, was chosen as this year's D.A.R.
Bradshaw Athletic Achievement Award recipient. This award is
present to a graduating student, having the most improvement in and
contribution to athletics and whose quality of spirit and
competitive drive contributed to the overall success of our college
Athletic program. Lombardo is a dual MVP having been chosen for the
Thunderhawks Cross Country Running and Men's Indoor Soccer
teams.
The Dean Ryan Activities Award was presented to Cole Badiuk.
Badiuk is the incoming SUCCI Director of Athletics. This award is
awarded to a Confederation College student who demonstrates
outstanding leadership qualities through involvement in Intramural
Recreation and extramural activities throughout the Fall and Winter
semesters. Cole hails from Balmertown, Ont., and will be entering
Year 2 of the Paramedics program this Fall.
Micheal Vintimilla, from Thunder Bay, Ont., was awarded this
year's Intramural Male Person of the Year award. Mike has been a
dedicated co-campus recreation team representative of this year's
campus recreation overall champions – The Young
Gunz. Teammate, Ashli Mombourquette was presented with the
Intramural Female Person of the Year award.
