TORONTO - The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) has finalized its league schedules for the upcoming 2018-19 varsity regular seasons.

Competition begins shortly after Labour Day for most of the fall league sports.

The three-time defending OCAA champion Algonquin Thunder kick off the women's soccer season when they visit their East Division rival Durham Lords in Oshawa on Sept. 8. Algonquin is looking to become the first women's soccer program to win four straight provincial titles.

The season officially kicks off a day earlier with two matches hosted by the George Brown Huskies and Loyalist Lancers.

Women's Soccer Schedule:

The men's soccer season will begin where it will end in 2018, as the George Brown Huskies host the Sheridan Bruins at Esther Shiner Stadium in Toronto on Sept. 7. The Huskies will host the provincial championship in the same venue in late October.

The Durham Lords ended a 20-year OCAA championship drought last season, as they begin their title defence on Sept. 8 at home against the Algonquin Thunder.

Men's Soccer Schedule:

The OCAA women's softball schedule commences on Sept. 8 with doubleheaders at three separate diamonds. The Durham Lords, winners of three straight and 18 overall provincial titles, look to become the first team to win four straight titles when they host the Conestoga Condors.

The following day, a 2017 and 2018 gold medal rematch will take place as the St. Clair Saints make their only trip to Durham this season.

Women's Softball Schedule:

There has only been one champion in the five-year history of OCAA men's baseball. The reigning gold medalist St. Clair Saints will be one of the teams tasked with throwing out the first pitch on Sept. 8 as they look to keep their unblemished championship streak alive.

All teams will be in action on opening day with doubleheaders on three diamonds. A rematch of last year's gold medal game will take place the following day, as the Humber Hawks visit the St. Clair Saints.

Men's Baseball Schedule:

The women's rugby sevens schedule is unique as all matches will be played on Saturdays at one location in tournament style events.

Locations and dates have been set, with complete schedules to follow.

Women's Rugby Sevens Schedule:
Sept. 22 - Sheridan

Sept. 29 - Conestoga & Durham

Oct. 13 - Fleming

Oct. 20 - Loyalist & Seneca

The men's rugby regular season begins on Sept. 9 as the Durham Lords play their first-ever OCAA regular season match against the reigning silver medalist St. Lawrence Vikings.

The defending OCAA champion Sheridan Bruins begin their title defence on Sept. 12 when they host the Conestoga Condors.

Men's Rugby Schedule:

OCAA fans will have to wait until October for the start of the winter league sports.

Volleyball begins with three women's/men's doubleheaders on Oct. 19 as the Loyalist Lancers, George Brown Huskies and Georgian Grizzlies play host.

The 11-time reigning OCAA women's volleyball champion Humber Hawks begin their season on Oct. 25 as they play host to the Redeemer Royals. Humber will enter the regular season having won 152 consecutive OCAA sanctioned matches.

Women's Volleyball Schedule:

The Fanshawe Falcons have a modest win streak of their own, having gone unbeaten in OCAA men's volleyball play last season en route to a provincial championship. They begin play on Oct. 20 when they visit the Niagara Knights.

A rematch of last year's OCAA gold medal match will take place on Nov. 24 on the home court of the Humber Hawks.

Men's Volleyball Schedule:

Basketball begins with a women's/men's doubleheader as the Conestoga Condors begin their respective sophomore campaigns at the Lambton Lions on Oct. 18.

The reigning women's basketball national champion Humber Hawks begin their season the following day when they visit the Fanshawe Falcons in a rematch of the 2018 OCAA gold medal game.

Women's Basketball Schedule:

The defending men's basketball national champion Seneca Sting begin their title defence on Oct. 19 when they play host to the Georgian Grizzlies.
