Kiersten Timmermans
Kiersten Timmermans is one of the new recruits that has the Humber women's volleyball team excited about the possibility of repeating as OCAA champs next year. Kieresten says that the atmosphere at Humber is what persuaded her to come, and she sees herself having a big impact freshmen year with her positive attitude and intensity. Her strategy for getting in the zone before games is simple; listen to music and visualize making plays all over the court. With an attitude to match her skill set, the middle from London, Ont., will no doubt be making an impact for years to come.
Mackenzie Prins
Mackenzie Prins will be joining the Humber women's volleyball team next year, and the 6-foot-0 outside hitter is looking forward to the challenge. Having already won gold at the provincials, her winning pedigree will be crucial an asset for the Hawks. She says that the combination of a great program and team is what convinced her that Humber was the place for her, and she looks forward to doing what she loves next year. She gets inspiration from the quote "if it is to be, it's up to me," and that attitude will serve the team well.
Ashleigh Darrach
New recruit Ashleigh Darrach stands only 5-foot-4, but don't let her stature fool you; her impact will be felt. With nine years of playing experience with the Durham Attack and Clarke High School, she has the experience and will to help the Humber women's team repeat as champs. Listening to her iPod at extreme volumes is what gets her ready to go, and she says intensity is her strongest attribute on the court. When Ashley was younger, her mom inspired her passion; now, she will be doing the inspiring at Humber.
