JADOWSKI, COUGHLIN NAMED OCAA RUGBY ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) rugby student-athletes of the week for the period ending Sunday, Oct. 9.
TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges
Athletic Association (OCAA) rugby student-athletes of the week for
the period ending Sunday, Oct. 9.
MALE: Eric Jadowski, St. Lawrence-Kingston
Eric Jadowski scored a try in the game's dying
minutes to give St. Lawrence-Kingston its first victory of the
season, 31-27, over then undefeated Algonquin on Oct. 6. The win
improved St. Lawrence's record to 1-1 while Algonquin dropped to
2-1 in what is shaping up to be a tight OCAA Division II race. St.
Lawrence is currently seven points behind Algonquin with a match in
hand.
FEMALE: Noelle Coughlin, Fleming-Lindsay
Noelle Coughlin of Fleming-Lindsay earned a try
and a convert for a team-high seven points in a 22-12 win over
Loyalist on Oct. 5. The victory was Fleming's first of the season,
and improved its record to 1-1-1. It also guarantees that Fleming
will improve on last year's record of 1-3-0. Fleming is currently
six points behind first place St. Lawrence-Kingston.
