SUDBURY, Ont. – The Durham Lords men's basketball team bounced back from a season opening loss earlier in the week with a 91-59 win over the Cambrian Golden Shield on Friday.
Unlike Wednesday against Centennial, the Lords had a big second half as they scored 53 points to secure their first conference win of the year.
Rob Gagliardi (Whitby, Ont.) scored 27 points in the win. He is now averaging 23 points in the Lords first two games of the year.
Tyler McGarrity (Ajax, Ont.) had a bounce back game for the Lords as he scored 19 points and added six rebounds.
Alain Monyele of Montreal had 27 points for the Golden Shield in the loss.
The Lords (1-1) will continue their four game road swing to start the season next week as they head to Barrie to take on the Georgian Grizzlies. Game time on Wednesday, November 9 is at 8 p.m.
