SCARBOROUGH, Ont. – In a rematch of the David Stewart Tip-Off tournament finals, the Centennial Colts defeated the Durham Lords 77-57 in OCAA men's basketball action.
Tonight's game was Centennial's grand opening of their Athletics and Wellness Centre as well as both team's OCAA regular season debut.
Durham led 29-25 at halftime but came out flat in the second half as they were outscored 52-28 as the Colts cruised to a 20 point victory.
Rob Gagliardi led Durham in scoring with 21 points, six rebounds and three assists while second year centre Byron Wabano scored 12 points and added seven rebounds.
Liban Hasan was one rebound shy of a double-double for Centennial as he netted 22 points and added nine rebounds.
Durham (0-1) will head to Sudbury this Friday night for a match against Cambrian College (0-0). Tip-off for the Golden Shield's home opener is at 7 p.m.
