March 3, 2008 - The Women’s West, Central West and Central East Regional Championship are also currently underway in conjunction with the Men’s Regional Championship. The East Regional Championship is scheduled for March 7-8 at St. Lawrence College Kingston with the OCAA Provincial Championships scheduled for March 19-20 at the OSA Soccer Centre in Vaughan, Ontario.
On the women’s side Durham will be looking to win their second consecutive Indoor Soccer Championship after defeating Humber 4-0 in last years final. Durham looks to be in fine form heading into the regional tournament after winning the Sheridan Invitational Tournament on February 16th. A win by Durham will give them Provincial gold in both Outdoor and Indoor soccer after winning the Soccer provincials and capturing National bronze in the fall.
Other team’s looking to be in competition will be Niagara, Fleming P, and George Brown who have all won tournaments this season. Fanshawe also looks to be a threat after falling to Durham 1-0 in penalty kicks during the finals of the Sheridan Invitational Tournament on February 16th.
