MARIER, RICHARDSON NAMED OCAA VOLLEYBALL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) volleyball student-athletes of the week for the period ending Sunday, Nov. 20.

MALE: Keith Marier, La Cite

Second-year player Keith Marier (Ottawa) tallied 47 offensive points in two weekend victories. Marier earned 15 kills, three service aces and one stuff block in a 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-16) win over Fleming-Peterborough on Nov. 18. He then totaled 25 kills, two aces and one block in a 3-2 (28-26, 25-15, 23-25, 21-25, 15-8) win over Trent on Nov. 19. La Cite (5-1) has won five straight regular season matches.

FEMALE: Jenny Richardson, Loyalist

Loyalist (5-1) played three road matches in three days, going 2-1. First-year left side Jenny Richardson (Oshawa, Ont.) was a big reason for that success, earning a game-high 10 kills in a 3-0 (25-9, 25-10, 25-6) win over Boreal on Nov. 18. She then earned a team-high 10 kills and two service aces in a 3-1 (25-17, 19-25, 25-18, 25-18) loss at Cambrian on Nov. 19. Loyalist ended its road trip on a winning note, defeating Georgian 3-1 (25-27, 25-10, 25-16, 25-16) on Nov. 20. Richardson led the way with 19 offensive points on 14 kills, four aces and one stuff block.
