CATALANO, LETHBRIDGE TO PLAY FOR CANADA IN 2017 FISU SUMMER UNIVERSIADE

LONDON, Ont. - Two Fanshawe student-athletes will be representing Canada in the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei. Matt Catalano has made the U Sports managed roster for men's soccer and Sebastian Lethbridge for men's volleyball.

Catalano was named an OCAA League All-Star in his first season with the Falcons. The London, Ont., native was a starting defender for a squad that was ranked as high as fourth in the province last season.

Also from London, setter Lethbridge has been a key player for Fanshawe the past two years. In 2016, he led the Falcons to their first-ever CCAA national bronze medal, as well as a first OCAA championship in 46 years, where he was named OCAA Tournament MVP. He was also named OCAA Rookie of the Year in 2016 and in 2017, added OCAA West Division First-Team All-Star to his resume.

The International University Sports Federation (FISU) 29th Summer Universiade will run from Aug. 19-30. For more information, see the U Sports website:
