KINGSTON, Ont. - No one could top the Mohawk Mountaineers at the CaraCo Vikings Men’s Basketball Invitational Tournament, Oct. 21-23.
KINGSTON, Ont. - No one could top the Mohawk Mountaineers at the CaraCo Vikings Men's Basketball Invitational Tournament, Oct. 21-23.
The Hamilton, Ont. school won all three games it played,
including Sunday's championship game, 69-55 over George Brown
College.
Manny Campbell, of Burlington, Ont., led the
Mountaineers with 25 points in the final game. He finished with a
tournament-best 21 points-per-game average and was named the
tournament's Most Valuable Player.
Dwayne Harrison and Quinlan Veira
each had 12 points to lead the Huskies in the final game.
The consolation final was won by Champlain College, 71-59, over the
host St. Lawrence College Vikings.
Youssef Ouahrig, of Montreal, led Champlain with
19 points, most of which came in the second half. He was named a
tournament all-star.
Michael Ranger, of Toronto, was the Vikings
leading scorer in the game with 16 points.
