MOUNT ALLISON TO HOST CCAA BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP

October 12, 2007 - The Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) is very pleased to award the 2008 National Badminton Championships to Mount Allison University. Canada’s best collegiate badminton players will travel to the East Coast for this year’s event which will be hosted in Sackville, New Brunswick, from February 28 to March 1, 2008.

A proud member of the Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association (ACAA) and the CCAA since 1992, Mount Allison University has a proud history of hosting several conference championships in both badminton and basketball.

Athletic Director, Jack Drover, is very excited about the opportunity to host the prestigious event. “We are confident that we can meet the hosting criteria and organize and present a successful event that will show case the efforts of the athletes and the sport of badminton.”

The event will be taking place in Mount Allison’s McCormack Gymnasium, while teams and officials will be staying at the Super 8 Motel in Amherst, Nova Scotia, which is located approximately 15 minutes from the competition site.

Further event details will be made available to all CCAA member-institutions accordingly.
