In all, 155 male and female golfers from post-secondary institutions across Canada will vie for both team and individual titles at this year's event. The field will be comprised of 19 men's and 11 women's teams as well as individual competitors.
Fifteen golfers representing four programs in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) will take part, including defending OCAA and Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association men's champion Colton Kalkanis of Georgian College.
Following Thursday's third round, the field will be reduced to the top 10 men's and the top six women's teams, as well as any teams and individuals within 15 strokes of the lead.
On the men's side, the Université Laval Rouge et Or return to defend their title after securing a 12-stroke victory over the University of Waterloo Warriors last year. Ugo Coussaud of Angoulème, France., Charles Côté of Thetford-Mines, Que., and Sonny Michaud of Rouyn-Noranda, Que., all return to defend the overall team title this season. Rounding out the team will be Justin Richard of Dieppe, N.B., and Stanislas Caturla of Niort, France.
The UBC Thunderbirds will be vying for their fifth consecutive women's division title, having captured their ninth title in the last 10 years with a seven-stroke victory over the University of Victoria Vikes in 2012.
